Its a shrine and not an actual church but I think it fits here, St Josephs Shrine is located on the edge of the woods near the ruins of the old Errwood Hall in the Goyt Valley. The hall survived the reservoir being built but has since burnt down, the village it was part of is long gone underneath the water.
This little shrine however remains, seemingly in the middle of nowhere sited opposite some dark and slightly ominous (on dark British days anyway) woods.
