Love the exposure in #1. I can smell the scent of wooden pews and the Hymnals and BCP'sd, and hear the creek of the floor before the service as fellow parishoners quietly enter, sit and kneel in contemplation. Then, at the intonation, "Please Rise," the very building comes to life with its sounds as the congregation stands in unison.

If your photo gave me all of that in just a website viewing then it is a good photo.

A couple from the Nat Shrine / Cathedral - shot using 6~9 shot multi-exposure's to capture full tonal range:

This one if from a multi-exposure then tone-mapped to give that bright HDR look (x-posted from another thread)

Well Joe, you've schooled me. Those are the shots I tried when my daughter lived in Washington and went there to church. Awesome!

Thanks guys

I am near the shine and go quite often. Here is one more, this is another tone-mapped HDR snap. The different lighting in there makes it pretty hard to get a consistent overall white balance, I am going to start grey card'ing the white balance...

Joe, that's pretty darn good, I know the lighting is horrible in churches especially on bright days.

There's an area close to me known as the Land of the Cross Tipped Churches. Here are a few taken this Spring and late Winter:

St Augustine Church in Minster, Ohio:

St Michaels Catholic Church, Fort Loramie, Ohio:

St. Henry's Catholic Church, St Henry, Ohio:

St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Maria Stein, Ohio:
