Roskilde Cathedral, completed 1275 although repairs have probably been done since then. 30 Danish monarchs are interred within, including Denmark's first queen (by accident). Pictures of the interior and some of the extravagant tombs to come.

Saint Martin Catholic Church in Starkenburg, Missour

A real gem, out in the middle of Missouri, near Rhineland, on the Missouri River. We just stumbled upon it while driving the back roads. Beautiful grounds and church.

Basilica della Santissima Trinità di Saccargia (Codrongianos, Sardinia)

A medieval pisan romanesque church near my village. Nothing special, and not a perfect picture indeed,it was one of my first test shots with the K-S-1, using a PK A/R Vivitar/Cosina 28mm 2.8, taken trying to hold the camera on the top of my car.

Two church interiors many centuries apart. Arctic Cathedral, a very modern building, and Roskilde Cathedral, 13th century. Both images looking toward the altar.

Whipsnade Church

This is the Church of Saint Mary Magdalene in the small village of Whipsnade in Bedfordshire, the village which also has Whipsnade Zoo, the largest wild animal conservation park in the UK.

Each image is a 3-shot composite of images captured with a Pentax KP + the HD DA 35mm Limited lens.

Interior of a Scandinavian stave church that dates from about the 13th century, looking back toward the entry. Although much smaller, this building is somewhat more like a basilica in that it's more-or-less equidimensional inside rather than having an elongate nave. Taken with a fish-eye lens, but defished sufficiently to make the pillars as straight as I could. I also tried to subdue the flare around the entries. The day was overcast, sometimes sprinkly, but the interior of the church is very dark so even the dull weather outside was brilliantly bright compared to the interior of the church.

The skinny numerals above the clock date the church to 1771.

The little church of Sant'Antonio, in the countryside. It's settled in the precint of the town of Ossi, but the worship is shared also with Florinas, a village near the church.
Google Maps
It's a scan from an Efke film 100 (no longer produced) shooted in a moon night with a Pentax ME Super on a tripod.

Two more images from Roskilde Cathedral. The highly decorated altarpiece with many scenes in bas-relief and extensive gilding, and the organ pipes which have extensive, elaborate decorative embellishments.
