Glad if the photo amused, and no I did not partake. Actually, I cannot abide even the smell of beer.

This is the "suggested" speed limit...
(not kidding, the yellow sign is merely a suggestion by the village government as they have no authority on this unmarked provincial road)

Around here, yellow speed signs are there to advise of the safest speed on that particular stretch of road and don't override the usual speed limit signs.

Aside from the sign - you've got some serious Fall Colors going on up there

Same here in BC. With modern suspension, tires, etc. it is usually quite easy to go considerably faster around the bends, but every once in awhile there is a corner that surprises!

Great idea, Nesster: first some booze, then the Tilt-a Whirl!

My rule-of-thumb for advisory speed signs is to treat the kmh numbers as mph numbers. e.g. if it says 50kmh, I figure it's normally OK for 50mph. However, there's a trip I've done a few times this year that has many 25kmh and one 15kmh advisory sign. When they're that low, I figure that they mean it

Richard.

Agreed! I have to admit to loving to drive the twisty mountain roads.
