Fraser Canyon The "battle" with nature is real. The 1948 flood saw water up to the white sign behind the fence in the background of the photo.

A good many dog owners who compete in agility get appropriate vanity plates. I went around one afternoon at the CPE NATIONALS meet and photographed a good many, but not by any means all of them. Some are easy to understand, some take a little explaining, and some are a bit inscrutable. I'll post them in groups of five over the next week or so so as not to overwhelm this thread.

The Beginning of the Helium Crisis of 2018?

I didn't have my camera with me so I had my daughter capture it on her phone.

I suspect that the store that had helium floated away.

Time for more car-back-ends where owners express their love both for their dogs and doing agility with them.

Guess the owner's dog is a shedder. BTW: for all her long hair, our Sheltie sheds very little. Annabelle, the cat, leaves far, far more fuz wherever she sleeps.

Not sure what breed this owner has, but some breeds are notoriously talkative. Some dogs bark every second they are moving through an agility course, others, not a sound.

I hope the preceding image posted correctly. At the moment it is not showing on my laptop. OOPS! I see what happened, The post went up twice, first with the image, then with only the text. I've deleted the latter.
Many owners are deeply devoted to a particular breed, and you don't need to be a queen to like these ever-happy looking dogs.

I'm sure this is a doggy vanity plate because of the K 9 at the end, but I've been unable to decipher the rest of it.

Border collies, as I think very few dispute, are masters of agility, setting the performance standard to beat. And they just love, L-O-V-E doing it. But some of them are so lighting fast they're difficult to control, so they'll take the wrong obstacle before they hear the handler's command, and that can cost them the entire run.

The height of the jump bars is set by the dog's shoulder height, measured when they first compete. After a certain age, generally six years, the dog is regarded as past-prime so an owner can register it at two inches lower (our Tralee has been jumping at 8 inches rather than her original 12 inch height). Very old dogs can have the bars lowered even more. The emphasis by the vast majority of agility people and organizations is: "it's all about having fun with our dogs." Everyone loves to see an old dog do a run. There were tears all around when a 17 year old terrier did its last run with bars at the minimal four-inch height. The dog over its career had won a huge number of ribbons and honors.
