I have no idea what this sign is for. It's just sitting there beside the railroad crossing on 2nd Street. I noticed it had an extension cord running from it, with its end on the ground below a perfectly placed plug on a loading dock. So, naturally, I plugged it in. A moment later, the real sun came out.

I really like this, the fact you plugged it in is hysterical. The Railroad crossing gates and the electrical wires just add to it. Good stuff!

Thanks, Tom & Jean! I might not have plugged it in if my friend wasn't there, encouraging me. We were scouting out potential locations for a shoot the next weekend. He tried to frame some shots of it, too, but his 85mm lens made it awkward.

To keep this post relevant to the thread, here's a sign from an abandoned produce market nearby.

Jackalope on the menu. Wonder they can get enough to meet demand.

Yes, if it the rider takes it into a Seven Eleven convenience store like Our friend Wayne did when he was a teenager.

I didn't know Howard Johnson's still existed. Looks as if they are economizing on the advertising budget though.

There's a large HoJo motel locally, but no restaurant, although they had one decades back that subsequently was demolished
