I'm the opposite. I've driven manual vehicles most of my life, including the Suzuki 4WD pictured above. I love the control a stick shift gives on windy roads. But I find the automatic transmission on our current 4WD better to drive off road - auto is better in steep ascents, or river crossings, or in soft sand, and you can go dead slow without stalling. The only disadvantage is in steep descents - but left foot braking and driving through the transmission deals with that. Automatic Driving
Interesting. I know I definitely don't like driving automatics on snow. I have never tried in soft sand, but I do see the point with stalling the engine. Engaging low range helps a lot, but I quickly learnt to keep my revs up when driving a heavy and slightly under-powered bakkie/ute/pickup in deep sand.

I don't have a lot of experience driving on snow! Roads and 4WD tracks that get covered by snow in Victoria are mostly closed over winter - generally only the bitumen ones that go to ski resorts are kept open.

A different season here. K-S2 + DA 18-135.

If the flags seem very close together, there's a good reason for it. There have been two drownings at this beach (Woolamai, on Phillip Island) in the last month.

Seems like the right place to upload these random snaps. Taken in jpeg with k3 and 16-85. Slight contrast boost in Affinity Photo.

A great place to set up a photography business

unless it's important to have...you know...clients.

Dogs must be leashed, but almost all dog-walkers here take off the leash once they get away from the parking lot.

A bit hard to read, but I'm sure it points to... somewhere.
