Hey, no problem. I respect your point of view.

For reference, and because most people have no clue about what I do, here is a good summary.

This is the Channel Islands NP visitor center in Ventura, Calif. It was closed due to Covid at the time, but is open now, and well worth a visit!

Kansas imports kangaroos to clean up the litter???

A sign that originally indicated a picnic table, but has been enhanced by thoughtless tourists.

I'm curious about the people who do this. Do lots of people always carry a supply of stickers in search of places to put them, or is it one person stickerbombing the whole sign?

Same question for shoe trees (or fences or whatever). Do people commonly drive around with old shoes, ready to contribute when one appears on the side of a remote highway?

I suspect that the stickers are numerous people in an age category, and I suspect it's teens or young "adults" (=college age) who decide this is a generational thing that is "fun to do" and it's "be one of the group." As to the shoe trees - - I remember seeing one along the road in Oregon. In some cases it may be - again - college age "adults" at the end of long, hot summer doing a field geology course discarding the shoes they wore tramping in the heat across outcrops learning the mysteries of structural geology and the even greater mysteries of mapping a volcanic terrane. Discarding the shoes is a symbolic "I did it or "I survived," somewhat like tossing a mortarboard into the air at graduation.

I think those are called "love locks." I should repost the wall covered wads of chewing gum at what is supposed to be the home of Juliet from Shakespeare's play, Each has some tiny message that is a wish addressed to Juliet. The wall must be cleaned periodically of the mass of gum that accumulates.

Looks good to me, Let's go! And we did. Our son drove us down this road to a spot where we could park and walk downhill along a stream with multiple drops (pouring rapidly over tilted rocks, not falling over a cliff) to where we could get a view of a second stream that had one long waterfall (again, not a free-fall over an edge, rather cascading down a rock face.). The image does not give a feeling for how impressive this waterfall is when standing in front of it. It's something that doesn't come across in a photograph.
