A sign without words, but you know what's inside. The ukuleles were a little pricey for someone who only strums chords - but beautiful to see and hear!

Chepstow, South Wales

There are a number of these signs around Chepstow, featuring old photos. By "the races" it means Chepstow race course which is about a mile from the town centre. These punters probably arrived by train (the station is close by) and stayed in the hotel the previous night. Dozens of coaches still shuttle punters from the station on big race days today.

This photographer cannot have imagined that his shot would be viewed in digital form a hundred years later!

While walking thru Old Town Camarillo Calif, I passed by Dorothy's, which has been a fixture here for 40 or 50 years. Sadly, they couldn't survive the pandemic and are closing for good.
