Found this one on our walk this evening.

Is that a blue racer? They are particularly​ scary when you are about 8 years old, and while running through tall weeds come across one standing up.

I am not that good at critter ID, but looking at some info on the web, it looks like a good fit. At 52 I would probably get scared too if I had that happen Fortunately I don't do much running through tall weeds these days.

Talk about being caught with your pants down. Bad time to be molting. The big guy is in full fight mode from his crest to the puffed up body and the black shading behind the eyes. The little guy is thinking "Feets don't fail me now"!!!!!

A lot of my turtle shots don't turn out well because the shell is so reflective. That duckweed certainly gets around the problem!

Yup, a light dusting solves the problem.
