K-70 + M50 f1.7

This is a very special image to me! Not only was it shot from a tripod using my oldest, smallest (and least expensive) lens; the 30+ year old M50 f1.7, but it was also my first experiment with pixel shift (a 108 MB experiment!) Four 15 second long exposures from a tripod, rendered in Rawtherapee.

OM-1 - HP5 Plus 400 - Zuiko 50mm 1.8

Another common camera between us! I have owned several of the OM-1n version. I believe mechanically the OM-1 and OM-1n are the same, some differences in the light meter circuit and a pin on the hot shoe to tell you the flash is ready in the viewfinder. Here is the one that I have kept, and even sporting the 50 f/1.8!

Yes indeed, I believe the subtle differences are in circuitry and the battery improvement (stepping away from mercury)

I see you sport the "made in japan" 50/1.8... I sport this one on mine (see below), but I've also used the "japan" version... I do not know all their differences, but the "japan" ones do suffer from sticky aperture mechanism (not blades, I cleaned my old one before giving it away to a good friend as a gift). Overall what I've read, this "made in japan" version is better regarded than its "japan" counter part.

My pictures in the above post were shot with the "made in Japan" version.

This one below, was shot with the "japan" one.... I do not think (they are overall different shots, different film...) anyone can spot a 'difference'. It was also shot with a different OM-1 (silver one which I also gifted to my friend - this was a test roll after I CLA'd it myself and did light seals).

This is my Oly that I kept... Shot with the Dental Eye III (sorry it is not BW):

I have an ok OM collection (28/3.5; 50/1.8; 50/3.5 macro; 135/3.5; 35-70/3.5-4.5; 75-150/4 - all Zuikos) - contemplating an old EOS Canon to digitize them without added glass on adapter...

Very good. I don't have any recent photos to show, I have put some film through the camera but have not done anything with it (some expired b/w film I had around that I was going to process myself when I get "around to it"). I kept a few of my favorite lenses, 28/2.8, 50/1.4, 90/2 macro and the one on the camera. That 50/1.8 is pretty beat up and does have a sticky diaphragm. The Zuiko 90 f/2 macro is probably the finest piece of glass I have in all of my collection, too bad it doesn't fit on Pentax. I had a Vivitar/Tokina 17 f/3.5 for OM mount that I sold, I could kick myself for that.

Here's a photo of the Zuiko 90 macro (I even made it mono for the thread ). Tack sharp, silky manual focus, great colors. I think I paid about $800 for it 25 years ago. I know there is a way to convert OM mount lenses to Pentax, but I can't bring myself to hack the mount on this lens.

A cluster of underground utility markers/terminal boxes along Illinois Highway 78, near Chandlerville. The dark, arched lines silhouetted against the distant river bluffs are irrigation booms--very sandy soil in that region.

That 90/2 looks interesting I bet one gets awesome portraits off of it.

the Viv 17/3.5 = just tell me that at least it fetched a good profit!
