Originally posted by ffking To me it goes beyond that -if I were making a book of my pictures, the one's I'd want to include, in whatever genre, would be the ones that it was hardest for you or anybody else to go out and replicate - that's the sort of thing that grips my attention anyway - though I knbow that a lot of people like landscapes or portraits here the interest is in the subject not so much the photograph.
Yes, very true. I guess I had the "human element" stuck in my head. Ignoring that, I still agree with you, whether it is a landscape after an ice-storm, a colourful springtime meadow lit up in the morning sun, etc, etc....the uniqueness and rarity of an image certainly makes it a fav in my eyes.
