An unexpected opportunity- Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory

The Story: After the dog park trip Saturday morning (see Pipi the ballet hound on page 1152), We dropped off her dogs at her place and I put the DSLR w/18-135 in my place (we are neighbors) and we headed to The Payne Street Bakehouse. On the way out my door I remembered a couple comments I had made in other threads.

1) My K-01 hasn’t seen action in at least 60 days.
2) I have a cache of Ltd Primes that have seen little action as well this winter.
So I grabbed the K-01, mounted the 15mm Ltd and stuck the 40mm XS in a jacket pocket.

So over coffee and a bagel, Tara asked if I wanted to go with her while she did a brief 15 minute St Batrick’s Day LIVEcast promo at the Slugger Museum. Of course, I said, “Sure.”

Upon arrival I learned the museum had arranged a private tour guide for her. She introduced me as her photographer and off we went on a whirlwind private tour of the museum and factory. Essentially I had one camera and one lens and I couldn’t have picked a better light load out for this impromptu opportunity. I could have spent an hour or more vin there. In fact, I lagged behind enough that twice the guide sent another employee back to find me still trying to compose a shot. Seems letting tourists wander the factory unescorted is a liability and against the rules.

But we had to run. Tara had another engagement and I had a birthday party to get to. Some of the color pix may end up in another appropriate thread.

That's really nice! I like everything about it... the tone, DOF, and even that frame (how did you do that?)

No cropping. It‘s not needed at focal lengths of 15 to 18 mm. Captures at 15 w/o hood. A little work on vignetting in post, conversion in black & white and my usual image optimizations in Capture One Pro. The DA*15-18 is very well usable with the K-1 IMO. I really like working with this combo.

Yes, it's nice having an app dedicated to B&W. Whether it's just a quick "one button click" or delve into the precision tools, it certainly seems very capable. The only reason I haven't really used it much is because I'm slowly trying to master Darktable... what a swiss army knife that tool is!
