The view from the gate was taken from the north side of Kauri Mountain which is at the northern end of Ocean Beach. Yep, looking toward Taiharuru. There is something very special about the Northland coast line.

Yes, indeed, and thanks for sharing. Specifically, everyone goes north to the Bay of Islands - the coastline from Leigh north is pretty amazing.

One not too far away from One tree point on the other side of the harbour:

Of course, other areas of the country are pretty good as well . Another place I am unlikely to get back to:

Many thanks for the kind words! I have been extremely lucky to have travelled a fair bit in NZ. One of my friends (now selling properties in Brisbane) was in Ruawai, so a bit familiar with that area.

Edit: I see these were all shot with the 21mm. Never should have sold that lens, but it has a good home!

thank you! appreciate that......did some rather unusual editing mixing an embossed image (in my editor kinda makes a gray depth map i don't know what else to call it) via opacity overlay......can only do it with black n white.....it saved the 2nd image as it was garbage!

Trialling an adapted Meyer-Optik Görlitz Diaplan 80mm f/3.5 projector lens. It flares like the best (read: worst) of them, but it's got sharpness where it needs it, and a beautiful, low-contrast feel which gives it some excellent character for black and white. It fares okay with colour but this is where shines in my opinion.
Top two are SOOC with only adjustments to the masking slider for sharpness, so I didn't sharpen all the noise. The MX picture is adjusted for highlights/shadows/contrast etc.
