It's awaiting a home actually. I like rebuilding vintage speakers (it's amazing what people throw away or give to GoodWill...not that I'm complaining or anything). Usually involves simply refoaming the woofers and mids and replacing the capacitors (usually electrolytics) with Polypropelenes. If they've got real veneer cabinets, it might involve a full refinish. But I currently have a pair of EPI Model 100s (with the airspring tweeter...curbside find) which I've noticed a little ringing at certain frequencies. This is a Dayton Audio 1 1/8" silk dome which will be able to take the low x-over of ~2000Hz that the EPIs have.

Here's a link to a KLH Model 17 restoration I did last year.

Now I know where to take my old 70's-vintage Advent Loudspeakers for a refoam I've been dragging them with me for years - never thought about leaving them on the curb! Nice job on those old KLH's.

It's easier than you think, and yes, I have a pair of New Large Advents I got at GW and refoamed.

Agreed, this picture is seriously cool! It's like they're living in the tree

Thanks Phillipe there are many of those cool-rooted trees there. They captivate em each time. Prolly need to do some wide-angle close up work with them.
