I've been doing my people/portrait type photos in B&W for a long time (which is why I was so excited to find this thread (and your photos!)) because they seem to convey more emotion, draw your eye to the real area of focus better. Any ideas why that effect on the mind? Why should B&W portraits work so well? Does our eye isolate the human face that completely when we look at someone without a camera lens?

Thank you. I really do believe that black and white conveys more emotion, especially people shots. My guess is because the emotions can't hide in the color.
