Thanks. It was very overcast and about the only light the entire morning was the sliver that is up on the ridge.

We had a winter storm yesterday, so I took this macro of the ice pellets. It was essentially monochrome/grayscale to begin with.

Taken with Pentax K100D Super, Pentax-M 50mm f1.7 on extension tubes, Pentax AF280T flash.

To give it a colder look, I added some cool tone to give it an icy look (using Sagelight Image Editor), posted at http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8108/8498345876_f2edef7a9f_b.jpg

Walking and driving on this stuff is "interesting"! Ha!

Here is a pano shot - originally four shots stitched, but I then corpped down, so you've got two central images plus a bit on the riight and a bit less on the left! Hope you don't mind the frame...

Saw your area on our weather here in Portland last night. They had some video of a thunder/lightning storm during the snowy blizzard....cool stuff.

We occasionally get "thunder snow" in the winter, and it can dump HUGE amounts of snow very quickly. However, this was thunderstorms with rain and hail, but it was still 20 deg. F at ground level. Then it switched to sleet. I'm just glad it was not tornados.

I changed the post to display the grayscale image, with a link to the toned image. The sleet beads look like jewels. After I took it, I realized I should have taken several images at different focus points and tried focus stacking. I've never tried that before even though I have some software that will do it.
