We occasionally get "thunder snow" in the winter, and it can dump HUGE amounts of snow very quickly. However, this was thunderstorms with rain and hail, but it was still 20 deg. F at ground level. Then it switched to sleet. I'm just glad it was not tornados.

I changed the post to display the grayscale image, with a link to the toned image. The sleet beads look like jewels. After I took it, I realized I should have taken several images at different focus points and tried focus stacking. I've never tried that before even though I have some software that will do it.
Im from MN originally....the midwest can get some pretty wicked weather at times.

I do like the grayscale version better...it would be interesting to see a composite version of different focus points, but I do like the blur.

Very cool...love the gradient of that boardwalk. Plus the shadow....seems almost cut or diffused by something, interesting.
Thank you abi!

Yeah I guess the shadow has been diffused by some window of the building on the left

Still going through old stuff and finding forgotten stuff.

This is from April 2008, while visiting my brother in Austin, Texas.

Pentax K10D, SMC Pentax-A 35-105mm f/3.5, monochrome conversion done in ACDSee Pro 6

BTW, if it's not okay to post tinted monochromes here, just let me know.

Thanks for the kind words

You all have set the bar pretty high - just happy to maintain the calibre

Tinted mono is okay by me! The pedestrian really adds scale. WoW. Well seen.
