Thanks guys! Yes, those eyes are magic. You can't help feeling vulnerable when they lock on you...

It's fun experimenting with monochrome conversions. I was trying for a coarse, gritty style, and also to get the green bush and yellow grass converted into brighter tones in order to make the lioness stand out more. Also put her mid frame to really get the focus on the eyes.

This continues to be my favorite thread on the forum--awesome work on display.

Dunerunner, I'm curious as to your lens used on that last...it seems to "fit" some hills and hollers I'd like to revisit soon, camera in hand.

Alas, that's one dik-dik that's had a few too many spins on the Circle of Life...

Great captures and post-processing on these...

Thanks, the lens used this day was the 'K" SMC 20mm on my K-5.

Heard the one about the worst day fishing being better then the best day at work?

Great, it had to be one of the rare ones. Seriously though, a great capture--y'all are really opening my eyes to the "K" series of lenses.

Ha, I've pretty much dedicated my life to that proposition. That's beautiful country, though a flyrod fisherman might have to put up with a stiff breeze at times coming down off those slopes.
