Can a little Optio 33L get a piece of this action?
I just took out this little Pentax CCD sensor wonder out for the first outdoor shooting since I got it. Unfortunately, while it had taken a good well-balanced flash shot, these outdoor shots seemed mostly a bit overexposed, and a bit purplish. Browns and greens I had seen weren't exactly there. I had light balance on AUTO, next time I'll try DAYLIGHT. I had the ISO on 100, so I don't know why it would be overexposing...? I'll tinker with setting before the next outing with it. But a funny thing happens when the files are desaturated to B&W, followed with just enough tweaking to get a good range of tones from deep black to white. It would be fun if I could get it to shoot B&W directly.

Follow-up:
I may have found the culprit. The camera was set on the "self-portrait" picture mode. I had no clue that the little symbol on the screen meant that. Perhaps that affected a few things, including the hue of the images. i also discovered that the BW filter works not only in reviewing pictures taken, but also in taking pictures, so I could shoot B&W directly.
