K 1000 + FA* 85 / 1.4 + red filter on Ilford FP4 Plus:

I was really wanting to do some film shooting and I was happy about ... I scanned the negatives on a Wolverine 35mm scanner I used some years ago to scan lots of family slides, not a bad one but I think there are better ones. I am planning to do some 120 film photography. Any recommendation for a photography scanner ??

Had this in my archives from 2014 and hadn't done anything with it until recently when I processed a color version, but my original intent was for B&W.
K01 + da35mm ltd macro...such a fun combo to shoot with (I would love a FF version of such a lens)
I wouldn't want to try to cross it if I'd had tee many martoonies.

Agreed, perhaps besides aesthetics it helped to ward off drunken samurai

I can't figure out if that's a bridge designed to trip up a drunk walker, or if it is designed by a drunk walker?
It is in a Japanese garden so I don't think it is either of those. But I can certainly see why you might think that way.

That has a very serene mood. The birds really add a bit of mystery to it.

would the FA50 Macro not be the lens you want?

Hey Dave, yeah at one point I thought it might but having had it for a bit now I see that it is not. I like the FA and it does macro very well with beautiful image quality but, for me the 35mm ltd was a do everything kind of lens. It was perhaps one of the most versatile lens I ever had. I could mount that lens and use for macros, close focus, landscapes, portraits in a pinch etc... and the handling was great. Even the manual focus throw wasn't so bad and quick shift was something I utilized frequently. The FA just doesn't seem so dynamic and versatile for me in the way that the 35mm ltd on APSc was and even with that clamp to tighten down the focus throw, the manual focusing is not so great.

The 50mm that comes closest to all those traits is the DA*55mm, but it lacks one important thing...its MFD is typical for a standard 50mm lens. The *55mm would be perfect if it was a macro. I'm thinking I may pick up a 35mm ltd again and just use it in crop mode but it is a shame to miss out on the full resolution of the sensor. Or perhaps alternatively I can experiment with close focus diopters to see if the *55mm can benefit from that. Do you have any experience with those diopter lens attachments?
