Thanks!

. . . The source of bubbles is trickling them and as the ice forms gas will get trapped and then frozen, then the next layer of ice forms below it and the process repeats.
Repeat enough times and you have bibble stacks. The size of the bubbles would depend on the frequency of gas bubbles and how fast the ice is forming.

The bubbles are coming from a source at specific locations. Say, decomposing plant matter on the bottom.

decomposing vegetation is one option, I agree, another might be carbonated springs which would be my guess,

the stacking - not sure if it a freezing action as much as possible floating up because of weight and being caught in different temperature levels??

I have no expertise to offer, just exercising my W A G privileges

in any case, great photos recording the events [/COLOR="Silver"]

Was able to go a bit deeper into a wooded area that is generally grown over with high weeds.
They were cut down on this trip to Judge Morris Estate.
So i discovered this great fallen tree.
Not able to do it justice ...

As Dave said, you got very close! Nice job. I frequent this same type of area quite often here in Texas, and I'm always trying to capture a "special" scene like this one.

Yes, always looking for that "special" scene. Which you have captured on numerous occasions.
I don't think we'd be photographers if we weren't looking for that "something" in our surroundings.

I keep thinking I want to get another 28mm, so I take out the oldTamron 28mm f/2.5 to see if i like the focal length enough to invest in a new one.
I do like it.

K 3 + Smc Pentax D FA 100 mm macro

the pattern of the coloration of the feathers of this Eurasian Eagle Owl and the tree, needles and branches of the Scotch Pine is striking to me

Thanks! I think they are too! We may get snow tonight so this might be it for the bubble season but we will see.
