. . .Nice shot...did you telephoto or climb?
thank you

if you saw me, you would know that I would only climb a sturdy tree to escape danger

and the tree would have to be very sturdy

the DA * 300mm can " reach " out there and then I cropped the original photo as well

Is that your picture? Fantastic! Was that luck or were you staking out the den?

thank you but it is not from " the wild "

it is from the Topeka Zoo and Conservation Center and the elevated walk way ( you also can view the enclosure from ground level should you want to )

[ I am a docent there and I also go there frequently to try to improve my photographic techniques - practice, practice, practice you know ]

I had heard the bear was in the " den " but could not see it, I walked away and then heard someone say it was coming out

there are actually 3 black bears in the enclosure

it was the first time I had seen the bear using the hole, not sure how long it has been doing so

Interesting photo, I really like the mood it imparts....Why does the Beatles (Harrison) song "Here Comes the Sun" come to mind.
Thanks! Not quite the image I had in my head, but I'm getting there.

Very nice, Matt. Question though, why the slats into the river? To stop getting cattle out?

Thanks and yes, it's a continuation of a regular cattle fence where it crosses the creek.
