Former Red Cross Hostel for visitors and family of people in the Greenslopes hospital across the road. As I was poking my camera through the fence an old gent shuffled by, and seeing I was interested in the building told me a bit about it. Apparently it had been built during WWII as barracks for the newly built repatriation hospital, and then been passed over to the red cross for accommodation for families of those in the hospital. I had not seen that sort of roofing tile before, a sort of gray terracotta, and apparently the weatherboard up to waist height and then fibro from there to the roof was typical of the time. It seems they've found asbestos in the roof, and are worrying about it "exploding", and the building is now condemned;

The bus stop over the road that made it to the heritage register;

Hi rjbrett
We are losing lots of old buildings because asbestos was used in constrdction.
I was under the impression that if you don't mess with it it would stay stable.
I know its bad stuff for the contractors who were building with it.A friend has that asbestosis.
