Perhaps not as immediately interesting as the first, but one must take one's time - there is actually much going on, textures in particular. I think there'd be an interesting story to be recounted through a series of these...

Edit: these are typically (for me) images that go up a whole extra level when viewed in print (not necessarily very large). Do you print much?
Thanks again for taking your time to look!

I used to wet print a lot in earlier days, though not in very big formats. These days, alas, it is mostly on screen.

I've been giclée printing (at a local printer's - who is also an artist) a half dozen b+w images/year for the past two years. ~20x30cm images with a wide margin so as to admire the beautiful rag paper they are printed on. They cost me 12€/print. I've never made a better investment for my photography. The results are gorgeous - seeing them on a screen does not do them justice. A good image used to be one that I liked on screen; now a good image is one that makes it to print - and there are much fewer than I used to think!

Nice one, Ray! The black & white treatment really works on this photo and I love the 3D effect.

Thank you, Rob. For the B&W treatment you can thank NIK Silver Efex Pro 2 and for the 3D effect you can than the DA 18-135mm. That is one great lens.

One from my abandoned building adventure last weekend. This has a smooth clarity monochrome filter applied to it.
