Nice sample... at least to me, it'd make me look at that lens and see if it is available... Great shot again.

A few recent shots. All were shot RAW, but processed as jpegs on LR mobile, since I was traveling at the time.

Thanks! It was a cool moment to capture.

Here is another pair I took last night. These are among the first images that I took with my new (to me) Carl Zeiss Distagon 28/2.8. It's been in my hands less than 24hrs and I think I'm in love. I didn't expect to come back to manual focus from the modern AF lenses, but this one is winning me over.

Nice shots. I really like these. The top one has a wonderful expressiveness to it, but all are good.

Certainly good results. What's your AF lens you would have used before this for the same shot?

I've been shooting a lot with my Zeiss/Sony 55/1.8 lately. It's lightweight, super sharp, and the rendering is outstanding. The earlier three were all taken with the 55. I probably would have used the Zeiss/Sony 35/2.8 for the latter pair, since the focal length is similar to the 28. Even though the modern Zeiss lenses are lightweight and the image quality is superb, the lens weight and sensation of manually focusing--which I much prefer to the feel of focus-by-wire--brings something different out of the experience of taking photos.
