Looks like the old stomping grounds from my Ryerson days. Yonge and Gerrard?

That's right - but if you want too long to go back you won't recognize the place! Apart from the odd bit of retained frontage, that is.

I'm sure a lot has changed since the late eighties when I was there. It was actually Jorgenson Hall in the background that jogged my memory, although I do recall an Irish-themed pub (the name of it escapes me right now) in the building currently under construction. Back then, the sights and sounds (and sometimes smells) of T.O. left quite an impression on a country boy like me. Thanks for sharing the photo.

If you were into photography then you will be interested to know that Aden Camera has just moved from Yonge and Elm (where I bought my Pentax K-1000) to a new place just south of College Park.

Thanks. I did buy my first SLR, the K-1000, in the mid-80s when I started at Ryerson. I remember frequenting a few big camera stores (Henry's and a few others) in the Church and Queen area where I could look at all the lenses and dream (I was a cash-strapped student back then, after all). But yes, that's when/where the photography bug really took hold of me. It's reassuring to know that a few bricks and mortar stores that carry Pentax gear still exist.
