Conceptually I see where you want this to go I think. I believe if you can do a follow up shot, you can pull it off with a little more railing in the frame and a not leaning tower.
Mmmm - thanks for the feedback. It's an interesting point. What I'm not sure about is whether what makes the shot interesting, insofar as it is - and I have to admit I quite like it, for reasons that are hard to explain (call me a true Pentaxian who is interested in the things that can't be measured
) - is a sort of undefined through the keyhole peep feeling. As I said, this creates a narrative - whether the narrative is interesting or engaging depends on the viewer, but either way, to my mind, the picture becomes about the process rather than about the object. But that is a big philosophical chasm in photography - is the picture meant to be an accurate representation of an objective reality (give or take a bit of colour) in which the photographer is anonymous, or is it about the subjective reality the photographer brings to the image, which is very personal. I have to admit that at the moment I'm tending towards the latter, and those are the terms on which I want it to be viewed - but if it doesn't work for somebody it doesn't work, and I'm feeling my way through the process, so I do appreciate the feedback - it's difficult to be objective about your on subjectivity
