Well, I have lurked and looked at everyone else's photos for quite a while now. So I guess it time for me to "get off the pot" and post some of my own. So here is my first effort.

Well, it is... sorta. It is now the BNSF Railway which is owned by Burlington Northern Santa Fe, LLC. which, in turn, is owned by Berkshire-Hathaway.

I have great love for both the old CB&Q (Chicago, Burlington & Quincy RR) and the Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe Railway. My father was in charge of final assembly for the Budd Company which built stainless-steel railcars. And those two railways bought a lot of Budd cars putting food on our table.

My avatar is the the first diesel train – the Pioneer Zephyr. It was built by Budd's in 1934, set speed records and completely changed the concept of passenger rail travel.
