thats cool, especially with the kit lens!
Thanks, Dude. After using the kit lens for almost a year, I've come to believe it's an underrated lens which can do some great work. I don't know if it's the lens or many camera (K200D), but the dark backgrounds in close-ups can be a little noisy even with low ISO. Still, it is a handy lens which has served me pretty well.

Thanks, it is my K20d with a CZ35mm Distagon @f2. That lens is so much fun to go out into the bushes with. It seems to be able to take the most ordinary scene and make it almost surreal.

Ok here are the rest of the shots from my daughters birthday party, and I adjusted them by hand instead of letting the program do it, and I think they came out a LOT better, please let me know what you all think

Taken with a 1965 Helios 40 85mm indoors , no flash on my K-X

a shot at f2

a shot at f1.5

converted to B+W as my wife is very pale and I wasnt sure if I liked the colour tones

my brother in front of a window, this was at f1.8 and I made it selenium tone as the window was all blown out a funky colour ( patio furniture in the background)

and last but not least , the birthday gal, its OOF and a bit blurry, but I really like the way the shot came out , it captures the dynamicism of a 7 yr old , converted to B+W as she is paler than my wife even!

dude, did you choose your camera color to make your wife and daughter look tan?

Nice series, I like the conversions.
