I was showing someone some recent pics and they finally said they liked them, but that they were out of focus around the edges. Then they tried to tell me something was wrong with my lens.
I told them it was called bokeh, but they looked at me funny. Anyone else ever run across this?

I thought it was funny, and I wanted them to know that its a photography technic. I just got aggrevated when he told me his point n shoot camera takes better shots!

I dragged out the Kit Lens to determine if I wanted to keep it or not. Thought these turned out nice.

Yes I have, I was kinda stuck for a response so I took them off the xmas card list.

Sock Monkey looks good to me.

I didn't want to be rude to him, but I almost lost it when he said his camera took better shots than my "overpriced" camera. Needless to say, we didn't talk much longer.

I've had people say that about shots where I was going for the shallow depth of field as well.

This one sticks in my mind in particular from people complaining that the DoF was too narrow. I'm like "But... but that was the POINT!" D-:
