Noisy due to high ISO in play, but this is a (nearly) 360 degree shot from my backyard. In hindsight, I'm kind of amazed I had no photo-bombing airplanes show up for it.

Sigma 10-20mm @10mmx14 using the Gigapan. Lost a bit along the edge due to the stitching.

Played with an old no-name 200mm f/3.5 prime I rediscovered with the Gigapan.

This one is from back in April. I was out hoping for clear skies so I could get a shot if the milky way, but that didn't happen that night. I still like this shot though, especially with the car coming down the windy road.

A couple nights later I was able to get these two. I like the predawn glow shot better than the milky way one though.

Here's a more recent shot, from just a couple weeks ago. The northern lights are supposed to be visible again tonight, so I've been going outside to check every half hour or so since it got dark.

This one isn't technically a night shot I guess, just early morning. I got off work at 5:30 am and had a dentist appointment at 7:30. Seeing how I live about 1/2 an hour out if town, it didn't make sense to go home. So I found a spot with a view and watched the city wake up.

Here's some northern lights shots from last week. I looked outside at bed time, and figured I better go for a drive. I went to a nearby lake that required 4wd to get through a few mud holes, then a 1/2 km walk through the forest without much of a trail to get to the lake. The first shot was taken on my way to the lake, even though it was a fairly cloudy night, the aurora was able to light up the clouds.

K1 and K24 f 3.5. 30 seconds @ ISO 3200 and either wide open or 1/2 stop away.

It was cloudy when I got to the lake I wanted to take photos at, but I still like this shot.

K1 and K24 f3.5, 2 min exposure at ISO 400 and probably f4.5 or 5.6. I tried a bit of light painting on the foreground grass.

I waited for a while though, and the clouds thinned out a bit, and the aurora picked up again. Nothing too crazy, but it was still nice to be out there, very peaceful. At one point I had a mink or something similar pay me a visit, swimming around the bunch of grass in the foreground.

K1 and Rokinon 14mm f2.8 @ f3.2. 90 seconds @ ISO 1600.

This shot was back to the old 24mm.

This was looking the other direction with the 14 mm.

Black / Yellow theme , I think it is a DA21 or DA15? Not sure what lens was used.

My first try with astrotracer on the K1, and playing with my old SMC A400 f5.6.

Orion Nebula. I think it's 10x 40 second exposures, stacked with Sequator and processed (poorly) with ON1 photo raw. ISO 3200 and f6.3.

Jupiter and three of its moons. 4x 40 second exposures, otherwise same as above.
