From a walk around town just before midnight new years eve. cold and drizzling, but got some nice shots of the wet street scene. SMC Pentax A 50mm 1.4 lens.

From a while back, Nov 28, a hand held long exposure to get the movement in the lights. I braced against a sign post, and did a 10 second exposure. Same 50mm lens at f22.

Nope, pretty much straight out of the camera i took 4 shots (4 sec, 6 sec, 8 sec, 10 sec.)
this is the 10 second one
applied a little (very little ) NR, adjust WB slightly using the eyedropper on one of the lights, pumped up the contrast a bit and the blacks. a little clarity adjustment. All in all about a minutes worth of PP
Shot at 125 iso, which i think may well be the best iso for the K7 as far as I can tell (noisier than the K10 at the same iso though, but more saturated colours). Camera was set to Natural as well not bright or one of the other options.

I liked the result, though living here and seeing the post cards for sale all the time it seems kind of banal to me, but you have to take it at least once. Tonight will likely lead to a different night view of the city as I am time constrained for Single in January and there are a couple of others I have in mind that won't be quite as pretty as this view

here it is as a b/w alternate i didn't use - Dxo film pack Panf 50, Orange filter, Gold toned

Thanks for the info Eddie. So i take it you used lightroom? funny thing about some scenes. every time I am by Hollywood, i shoot the Hollywood sign even though it has been seeing all over the world millions of times. I have yet to take one that I like though.

This would be the first cityscape of Toronto I've been pleased with, i pass this spot almost daily but usually in the car with the dog on the way to the beach
So keep trying from various spots sooner or later you'll get the sign shot and be able to move on

Like the Paris shot Eddie. Hey Javier go get the sign :-) How about another person posing and squeezing it between their fingers (i.e. you) ?
