PP Challenge #21

Here's a photo I took on a rather overcast day in Germany.

Quick attempt. I saw this as a B&W. This was done entirely in Lightzone - my preferred tool for B&W conversions. The 'zone' interface is ideal for that IMO. I'd typically use a combo of Lightroom and Lightzone, but not needed since I just used the jpeg you provided. The composition also was quite working for me, so I did a rotate and crop - hope you don't mind!

oooohh this is kinda fun. I saw it a bit in B&W and bit in colour. I used lightroom for all the pp.

Processed with PSP X

- rotate right 7 degrees
- crop
- cloned some leaves that were touching the edges
- Levels adjustment for gamma
- Benji's USM treatment for contrast and saturation with the duplicate layer @ 50% opacity
- Color adjustment layer to remove some blue.
- resize
- High Pass Sharpen (radius 2, strength 81, overlay blend)

Went for square crop, sharpening, colour tweaks and some vignetting in LR.

The Magic Feather

It is amazing, the magic that surrounds us if we only look for it.

The Magic Feather from a Master's Perspective

The more I looked at this still life, the more I saw it as a Master's rendition. Hope no one minds a second look.

I went in close, too, to emphasize the feather's structure, the drops, and the texture.

I sure don't mind, and like it a lot, Rob.

I wanted to let the feather be the life in the photo, having it's surroundings appear more "dead" than in the original.
