Post your best negative space images

I'll start with an old favourite and try to add some more later. The day my Tamron 28-75mm f2.8 XR Di IF arrived in the mail, I was driving home from the post office. I came across this scene and this was the very first shot with that lens (on K10D). Really pleased with the flare control (like none).

This one was taken in the bathroom using 3 mirrors. It was on my web site and wound up being sold a couple of times, last time was a Christmas Poster for the University of Evansville. It was just an experiment.

And a wedding shot I liked.

Great idea, Peter! You've seen this one before, but I think it qualifies...

Here are some - I suppose we could get into a discussion about negative space and what it is, when is it a big element of a photograph. But pictures speak louder than words...

Rense Love that shot. especially since I know what it is now. You ever combine the images?

Nesster All very good images but you knocked it out of the park with that Brooklin Bridge shot. Well done. As for the discussion, to my eye a well done negative space image can be more powerful than any other image. The shooter really has to get the shot right or it just doesn't work.

Jeff, I like it. Very soft and painterly. A moody image that tells a good story. Nice work. (now go straighten that horizon to make it perfect!)

Not sure if these qualify. I don't have an eye for this type of photography.

Javier, Very nice shots. I think they come pretty close to the theme. I guess you need someone holding a poster to catch your eye!

Great topic, Peter, and beautiful photos to kick it off.

Rense, is that a seed case?

Nice photos, everyone. Here's one which seems to fit here:

Nice mystery there, Tamia!
There are a lot of wall-poster images here, must be the topic! Peter, the candle shot is excellent, I'm glad you explained how you made it, I'd have been scratching my head...

Don't know if this would be a good example or not, but it's the best I've got readily available.

Tamia, Very Hitchcock of you. Neat shot of something simple.

Nesster. Love it. The thing is that if it didn't have that whisp of bright cloud, it would have a lot less impact. Perfectly framed as well.

irishwhite, Nice shot. a little underexposed but maybe that's best.
