These Civil War grave sites are right by the railroad tracks. Bodies were unloaded, buried, and identified as well as possible. Many are "Unknown."

Those shots make me think about the stories of the men pinning to their uniforms pieces of paper with their names and hometowns written on them prior to marching into the wholesale slaughter that battles tended to be during the War of Northern Aggression. Apparently not everybody did it or it didn't always work.

P645, 75/2.8, New Portra 160... I think I was just about wide open here, focusing as they tell me to do on the eye, but I picked the wrong eye, so the cherub's cheek is out of focus.
