I've been playing with this image for a while. Here's one interpretation.
It's been cropped, exposure and contrast adjusted, and I gave it a soft focus as well.

Here's another try at this one. After cropping, I converted it to a tin-type image to give it an old time look.

Which file? The JPG or the PEF? What versions of software are you using. I opened (after downloading) the PEF in LR Beta 3, then opened the resulting JPG in PS CS4. So tell me what you are doing and I'll try and help you.

The file is the Pef, using LR 2 and PS CS4. PS message reads cant open this file as it is the wrong type of document.

Fixed, I had to convert it to DNG as that is the file format I use.

Little bit of HDR to throw some light on the subject, adjusted contrast, saturation and sharpening.

Crop, increase exposure, desat some colors, add vibrance, sharpened,
adjust tone curve and vignetting.

I made several changes to this, most notably moving the water closer, removing the bench, made the building look older, and filled in some trees before cropping and giving it an "artsy" look. Nothing to serious, just for fun.

Here's mine:

I brought the exposure up, added a little contrast and increased saturation. I decided not to crop or straighten.

It looks to me like the building's on a hill, so I didn't want to change that by straightening. I also decided not to crop, as I like seeing the sky and water, as well as all the tombstones. I also decided not to sharpen, as doing so seemed to accentuate the detail too much. It seemed to me it was a nice warm day to be visiting friends and family who'd passed on.

I am no PP wizard but it was fun to play with an image that was not mine. I basically ran it through Aperture playing with exposure, colour and cropping until I was content. I tried to heighten the reds to balance out the scene.
