Triptych & Diptych

triptych [ˈtrɪptɪk]
n
  1. (Fine Arts & Visual Arts / Art Terms) a set of three pictures or panels, usually hinged so that the two wing panels fold over the larger central one: often used as an altarpiece
  2. a set of three hinged writing tablets

Three of a kind...a set of three...a series of three...

Three together to tell a story or make a point! Diptychs (two panes/pictures) are welcome too.

To start things off:

Melancholic Fade...

When the "bright and cheery" don't stay that way...

Steve,

This is an interesting, but also challenging subject. I do not have anything ready to post, but I will see if I find something. I do not think, that we will see many posts a day, but I hope (and will do my best to make it true) and think that we will see quality here.

You are so right. I was hoping for a little action since I know there are forum members that specialize in diptych and triptych, but as you say, it is a bit of a challenge.

I have one that's ready. It's not very artistic, but I had to use a triptych to show all the food we had for our Christmas picnic.

Oh man. Now this has made me hungry all over again.

I just "widened" the theme to include diptychs too! Three is hard, but two is a little easier.

Steve, thanks - and I never did get around to complementing you on that first set of tulips. Very nicely done.

This I believe was going to be a triptych or a panorama, but somehow the middle photo didn't get made

I've never done one of these, but I thought these two photos taken 20 seconds apart would work.
