Hello from Sheboygan, WI

Hi Everyone,

Just discovered this forum and with my recent return to photography, I thought I'd join and take advantage of the wealth of knowledge it seems like the users on these forums share.

A little about me: Started taking pics using a k1000 back when I was a sophomore in high school (1983) in a photography class. Took some great photos with that old k1000 and still wish I had it, but about 20 years ago, my camera and all three primes I had were stolen from my sisters car while she was borrowing my equipment. More recently I had been using a zx-5n with a Tamron 28-200mm AF Aspherical LD [IF] 1:3.8-5.6 Macro.

About two years ago, the zx-5n stopped functioning. After debating whether to spend 135 to fix the 5n, I decided to look into a good used digital slr. Low and behold, found a nice deal on a used k10d for only 200 more than the cost to fix the 5n.

So, that brings me to this forum. I'll be posting some pics I have recently taken with the k10d and Tamron 28-200mm.

I look forward to the discussions, knowledge and critiques of my work.

Welcome! The 5n was a great camera, so I'm sure you miss it. We're not an all-digital site, though, so if you still had it, you could have shared your experiences here

Luckily, the K10D has pretty much the same functionality, minus the non-crippled mount and TTL flash, of course. I'm sure the K10D will nevertheless prove satisfying!
