Formal introduction

Hi

Have been lurking here from the beginning.

I have been a frequent poster on the DPReview but have been increasingly annoyed with Phil. I can handle trolls and whingers but when the owner himself contributes making that forum a less pleasent place while I and others try to make it a more comfortable place then I feel it is like "beating a sleeping quilt". (big effort small effect)

Heck I don't even mind delayed reviews because I don't need them but an experienced guy like Phil should know that it courses steam to build up while all it takes is a post once in a while to take that pressure away. Instead he bans people, attacks people or uses some very bad excuses.

This place surely looks nicer and much more user friendly.

I presently own a K100D and a DL. 16 AF lenses mostly Pentax primes.
I have been using Pentax since the MZ-3 film SLR was introduced.

Cheers
Jim

Oh yes. I have 3!!! The 4500, 8400 and 8800. Still enjoy all of them for hiking, travel etc. 24 - 350 mm + macro. Great apart from lowlight resulting in about 25 % flash images but I also have the Speedlight SB-600 and Nikon flash controll is excellent.

Welcome Aboard Jim,
I've been here from the start and have seen this forum grow. It's great to see the best coming over. It really is a wonderful place. I'm looking forward to your post and comment. I hope you will once again sponsor an inspirational challenge.

Good Shooting.

Welcome, Jim

Your inspiration challenges on the other place were institutions, one of the pleasures of the place. I hope you will find the time to continue the tradition here.

Inspiration Challenge

I might think about moving the challenge to this forum but I have to get more familiar with the user interface to see if I can handle that kind of challenge just as fast. The interface here is in many ways much more advanced and straightforwarded but the DPReview interface is close to perfect for this challenge.

Maybe I will move it anyway but if the time spend per image increases I might have to set some kind of posting limit.

Thanks again for the kind comments. Much appreciated.
