I have a k-x 18-55 kit+ Da 75-300 & smc m 50/2!
I love it! Looking to get FA 50mm 1.7 or 1.4. =)) Cheap, have a very small budget! I am just a studet!

Welcome to the forum. Try to use the manual focus 50mm for now, because it will probably cost you at least $200 for the auto focus ones.

Unfortunately I don't see the FA 50mm 1.4 or 1.7 going for any less than $450 nowadays.

I can't really speak for the speed of the focus, as I don't own the lens. But I don't doubt that it's a good lens.

Another one to consider in the same price range is the Sigma 50mm f1.4 or Sigma 30mm f1.4.
