Hi all, what a great website this is, complete with members who seem to be both knowledgeable and generous with their advice. I'll no doubt be testing them on both scores in the very near future, as I've just inherited a Pentax MZ-7, along with some promising-looking Tamron lenses, and I'm just about to buy my first DSLR ... probably the Pentax K-x (I think that the K-7 will prove "a bridge too far", both in terms of price and complexity). Hopefully I'll soon hear from some of you in the "Beginner's Corner" section of the site, and with a bit (make that a lot) of luck my questions won't be too stupid .

Welcome. Don't try to absorb the whole manual at once :-)

Yes, please don't make your questions too stupid. Haha just kidding. I've asked many stupid questions. If you don't know the answer then it's not a stupid question, ask away and welcome.

No question is ever to stupid, it's really the only way to learn something.

I fear that in the weeks and months ahead I will have you questioning this statement But seriously, thank you all for the warm welcome to the forum, and I'm happy to report that I've already received some great advice in the "beginners" section re what camera combo to go for. It's exciting embarking on this new DSLR adventure ... and I haven't even bought my camera yet!

Some people suggest starting off with a lower end camera for their first DSLR. I don't disagree with the advice either.

All the best and welcome in.
