Hello all, My name's John and I'm writing from the damp yet lovely city of Bothell, WA. Very happy to have found this little slice of the internet but I'll admit up-front my utter lack of knowledge about all things photographic, and indeed my tenuous membership in Club Pentax. I'd never given much thought to photography until I bought my wonderful wife a dslr for a birthday present (Nikon D3000 w/ 2 lens kit, at her request). Between trying it out, seeing how much fun it is, learning how much more there is to it than point n' shoot, and seeing how pursuing the hobby has been of help to her in dealing with a traumatic event in our lives I'm sold. After a great deal of research I've purchased a used K20D body and some older lenses off this very forum, and with any luck they'll be arriving by the end of the week.
Just in my short time here I've encountered a great deal of kindness and a helpful spirit that I greatly appreciate. I really look forward to learning more about a fascinating subject, and getting to know some of the people here a bit better.
