Lens compatibility K10D and SMC 50 1.7

Query:
I am trying to use an old SMC Pentax 1:1.7 50 mm lens on my K10D. Following the instructions obtained here at the Pentax forum, I went
menu to custom setting to using aperture ring to choose 2. Permitted.

The lens now can take a picture. Spinning the frint dial chgnes the shutter speed.
Moving the shutter lever to the right shows the light meter.

Is there a way to see which f stop is being used?

Thanks,
Jim W

For SMC lenses the aperture is controlled through the aperture ring on the lens and there's no communication between the camera and the lens, so there's no showing or recording of the aperture info by the camera, only on the lens.
