Greetings from Rotterdam.

Hello all,

I'd like to introduce myself in this thread, as I'm new to this forum as an active member. I've been visiting this forum frequently for quite some time, mostly for the excellent lens review database .

I'm John, 36 years of age and I come from Holland.
Pentax is my brand of choice because it was one of the two brands that were sold in the tax free shop when I was a conscript (1993-1994) serving in Seedorf Germany in the engineers corps. The other brand was Canon. When I asked about the differences in a shop in Holland before making a decision the reply was:"They both take great pictures, but the Pentax will do the same in ten years time while the chance that will be the same with the other brand is a lot slimmer.
I made my choice in favour of Pentax and bought a Z-20 with kit lens and haven't regretted it since.
My equipment grew in number and evolved during the years especially during the last couple of years after I bought my first dslr (K10).
I also have some collectables (Auto 110 set, SP1000, etc), a Z1, 67 and K20, all three still in use. I also still use my K10 as a back-up to my K20 and is still my favourite for photographing lightning because of the noise reduction that can be switched off completely.
I also can be accused as suffering somewhat from LBA as I own more than 20 lenses. The lenses I use the most are my DA12-24/4, A40/1.4, Tamron 90/2.8 macro, Tamron 17-50/2.8 (less and less since buying my DA12-24/4) and M*300/4. Other lenses in my collection I use less frequent are: Takumar 500/4.5 (great optics for it's age but also very heavy), tak 85/1.9, 55/1.8, 50/1.4 (two versions, different coating), A70-210/4, M50/1.7, 2xA50/1.7 (still waiting for me to take my first stereo picture), A28/2.8, 67 45/4, 67 75/4.5 shift, 6x7 105/2.4, 67 300/4 and some more I don't want to bore you with.

My favourite subjects are night photography, architecture, lightning/weather phenomenon and nature/landscapes, in no particular order.

My daily job also involves taking pictures but on a different wavelength as I'm a X-ray technician in a hospital (Havenziekenhuis Rotterdam).

Greetings and looking forward to an interesting time perusing and participating in this forum,
John.
