Hello from California

I just found this forum and wanted to say hello. I don't yet have a Pentax camera, but soon hope to. I am about to make the plunge back into DSLR's and photography as a hobby, after using any number and brands of P&S's. I recently bought my daughter a Pentax K-x for her wedding gift, and had such a great time using it, I almost didn't give it to her.
My favorite all time camera was a Nikkormat(I know, this dates me) back in the day of film, so I do like Nikon stuff, and am looking at the D-90. But I was really impressed with the K-x, and have been studying up on the K-20 or the K-7 as an alternative. I will be shooting landscapes, people, etc. No sports or action, and no video. Anyway, I can't wait to get on this forum and learn everything I can, and hope to get some expert help along the way.

Welcome! The K-x is a great and versatile cmera for sure - I understand why you had a hard time parting with it!
