Hello to fellow Pentax Users

Hi to all of you,

I have recenty joined the users' group having already gained an awful lot from your collective experience of equipment, especially via the lens reviews and advice on aspects of photographic technique. I started taking and developing photos when I was 5 with a Kodak Box Brownie and the help of one of my brothers. Then, after a Zenith E, I got a Pentax KM 35mm when I was 15 (back in the late 1970s). I still have that camera and the 55mm f1.8 that came with it (it cost £129), plus a couple of others from that era. Photography got me into college to study for a degree, since it provided me with an A level. Academic life took over somewhat, but a couple of years back I came across a Pentax dslr and am now in thrawl to digital. Here are some samples of recent images for anyone whoi is interested:

Glad to be here.

Good to have a welshman on the forum.
I live in Aus now, but when we lived in the UK, as my Mum is Welsh, she came from Rhymney, we used to go to Wales for our holicays.
Swansea, Morriston, Mumbles, Caswell Bay, Harlech are some of the names I remember.....but that was over 50 yrs ago!
Cheers, Pickles.

Apologies for not responding to all of you sooner.

I have been off-line for a good while due to work and other commitments. Now I can turn my thoughts to photography once more (not that a camera has ever been more than a few feet away all summer).

Thank you all for you kind welcome. Nice to hear from a Welshman all that way away. I am actually English, but I speak Welsh. Rhymney is still there! I suspect things have changed since all those holidays 50 years back.

Best wishes,
Peter
