Howdy folks!

I've only been lurking on this forum for a few weeks and it's already burned a hole in my wallet... Seriously, I've been wanting to make the move from a point & shoot to a DSLR for a while now. Started looking around and this forum really helped me finally decide to pick up a K7 w/18-55 kit lens. I've only had it a few days and I am totally enthralled... and tomorrow my DA 15mm Limited should arrive! I think I'm going to have one really great weekend. I just hope I'm worthy of the combo by the time I go backpacking down in the Grand Canyon next month! Anyhow, thanks a bunch for being there -- I've already learned alot from you folks, seen some really fantastic pics, and I'm certain I'll learn a bunch more. Be.

Welcome to the forum, don't want to worry you, but this could be just the start of wallet damage.

Yeah, I still haven't figured out the exact definition of LBA but I think I get the concept... Picking up the 15 from the post office tomorrow morning and I'm already looking at fast 50's and a 100-ish. Probably will go the MF route there to save a few bucks though.

There is a 12 step program. First you buy 16 lenses and then sell 4 of them.....

... and buy 8 more. 12 step never works on LBA.

Wow--the 15! Congratulations!

You're going to have a BALL with that lens--the shots it's capable of are amazing.

Step Four

Hmmm... 16-4+8.... Yep this is gonna be painful. I'm only on step four now though: 18-55 kit, plus got the 15 on Friday, and ordered used M50/1.7 and M135/3.5 from KEH this weekend. Definitely trying to break away from the P&S realm. I figure this is as good a place as any to do a few test posts. So here's a few of my first DSLR/K7 images with the kit lens:

Wow, those Picassa Web image URLS are ugly. I wonder how temporary they are... may have to find a different solution.

Thanks for the welcomes!

Nice start. I actually enjoyed the ambulance. That could be a fun series, putting that thing in varios scenes as if it were real. The limited DOF is what makes it interesting.

Don't worry about the URLS from Picasa. Most photo host sites use something similar, they have millions of photos on file and the number string gets a bit long.
