hello from Halifax, Yorkshire, England

Hello.

i'm currently messing about with a lowly ist DL and a couple of old prime lenses (smc M 50mm 1.7 and a 28mm A something or other)

i'm mainly into B&W and i was hoping someone could point me towards any way of altering the ist firmware to allow a couple of things ??

Welcome to the forum, have you looked on the UK Pentax web site to see if there are any firmware upgrades for your camera, good first place to start.
