Really new guy to SLRs....and here!

Hi all, I'm Eddie. I just bought a used istDS and found this place to look for knowledge! My camera will not be here until mid-week or so, but I have been reading the manual online to familiarize myself a little. I know the DS is old news to y'all, but until now I have been using an Olympus Stylus 300 point and shoot. My best friend has owned a DS for a while, so it seemed logical to have a built in help desk too!

Well, I look forward to gleaning some info off you fine folks.

Eddie

Welcome to the forum. Great spot for info and posting pictures. And every once in awhile a decent but civilized scrap over some new techie thing. The *istD is a fine camera and a great place to start. There are many here that shoot with that camera and produce images better than those that have spent far more on larger systems.

Looking forward to some of your pics!

Thanks guys!!! I certainly am looking forward to getting it. Hopefully tomorrow. I realized that I take a lot of pictures, so I might as well get a real camera.

I hope you enjoy... I loved it and it was a pleasure to use, but had to sell it to buy the K10. Wife's orders.

I've been really happy with my DS. No problems after >10K exposures.

Enjoy it!
